David Warren Raney of Willow Creek, CA, passed away suddenly on September 7, 2023, of cancer.
Dave was born on Oct. 30, 1958, in Jefferson to Warren and Esther Raney and grew up on the Raney farm outside of Jefferson. He graduated with the Class of 1977 from Jefferson Community High School and continued his education, graduating from Iowa State University in ag business in 1981.
Dave worked in Northwood for several years before moving to California where he made his home. He held a real estate license and was proud of the property he purchased in Willow Creek.
Dave was preceded in death by his mother in 1982 and father in 1983. He is survived by his three brothers, Clark (Betsy) Raney of Indianola, Bill (Peg) Raney of Jefferson, and Ron (Sandy) Raney of Hampton; nine nieces and nephews; and 18 great-nieces and nephews. Many friends have stayed in contact with Dave through the years and also mourn his passing.
No services are planned, and a private family service will be held at a later date.
